SBP’s Diamond Category in Sohni Dharti Remittance Program

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has introduced a new ‘Diamond’ category within the Sohni Dharti Remittance Program (SDRP). This program, which already included ‘Green,’ ‘Gold,’ and ‘Platinum’ categories, aims to reward remitters who utilize formal channels for sending remittances.

Diamond category holders can enjoy enhanced reward points and exclusive privileges. These perks include the acquisition of arms licenses for non-prohibited bore firearms, preferential treatment at Pakistan’s embassies and airports, and complimentary passports.

SDRP is designed as a point-based loyalty program that allows remitters and their designated beneficiaries to accumulate reward points through formal remittance channels, primarily SBP-regulated entities. These points can be redeemed for various free products and services, including the waiver of emigrant registration fees, duty payments on imported goods, and school fees.

Additionally, the program offers benefits such as discounted international air tickets, reduced extra luggage charges with Pakistan International Airlines, life insurance and takaful premium payments, and purchases at Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan.

The convenience of accessing these reward points through a virtual card on the SDRP app further enhances the program’s attractiveness. Furthermore, the program has expanded its avenues for reward points redemption, including 1BILL and PayPak card services.

Overall, the SBP’s introduction of the Diamond category and the expansion of redemption options aim to incentivize the use of formal remittance channels and strengthen the ties between remitters and the program’s offerings.
